New for the 2027 season
Two new places your name can appear
Panels used to get filled from memory and a group text. There are now two directories people search instead, and you choose which of them you turn up in. You do not need to have judged an ezComp event to be listed in either.
Find a Judge
Event hosts building a panel
They search by what you judge, your state, how far you will drive, and whether you are free on their date specifically.
Your switch: Show me as available to judge Starts on
Find a Clinician
Directors looking for help with their choir
Free for every verified director, whether or not their school has attended an ezComp competition. They want someone to work with their group, not to score it.
Your switch: Show me as available for clinics Starts off
The clinic switch starts off, so nobody is opted in by surprise. If you would take clinic work, that is the one to turn on. And the events you have already judged are on your profile automatically, including ones from before ezComp existed.
The 5 steps
Visit the login page at ezcomp.app/login and sign in. There is no Save button anywhere; everything saves as you type, and you can stop after any step.
Screenshots are shown small to keep this page short — click any of them to see it full size.
Open your profile
At the top of the right-hand column is a circle with a percentage in it. Click the blue button underneath. A window opens with a list of sections down the left.
The percentage is not a grade. It counts the seven things hosts ask for most often, and the line beneath it names whatever is still missing.
Fill in the first three sections
- Contact — name, email, phone, and your city and state.
- About you — a short paragraph, written the way an announcer would read it. Two or three sentences is plenty.
- Judging and travel — the areas you judge, and whether you will travel. If yes, how far you will drive and whether you will fly.
Filling this in does not publish it. Your email and phone stay private until you switch them on yourself. Your city and state do show, because that is how hosts find judges near them.
Add your W-9
Tap the upload box in the W-9 section and pick your PDF, up to 10 MB. Above it is a switch to let hosts of your events download it themselves. Need a blank form? Get one from the IRS.
The sharing switch starts off. Leave it off and nothing breaks — hosts will ask you for the form the way they always have.
Mark the dates you are free
Close the profile window and click Availability calendar. Tap a day once for available, again for not available, a third time to clear it. Days you are already booked fill in by themselves.
Blank does not mean free. A host filtering to a particular weekend only sees people who marked that day. Skip the calendar and you will not appear in those searches, even if you are wide open. Your profile will still appear if the host does not filter.
Turn on the listings, then look at your card
This is the step that makes everything above visible. The Who can see you card in the right-hand column has three switches: the judge directory, the clinician directory, and W-9 sharing. Flip them and the line underneath tells you what changed.
Then click Preview at the top of that card. It shows your card exactly as a host or director sees it — your calendar, the events you have judged, and any comments you have approved.
Use the toggle at the top to check both views, because they are controlled by different switches. You can be listed for judging and not for clinics without realising it.
What each setting does
All of these live in My Settings, the last section of the profile window. The badge shows how each one starts out, and you can change any of them whenever you like.
Where you show up
Show me as available to judge On
Puts you in the directory hosts search when filling a panel.
Show me as available for clinics Off
Puts you in the separate directory directors search for clinic work.
Getting in touch
Let directors message me through ezComp On
People can write to you inside ezComp. You get an email the first time someone starts a conversation, and for every reply.
Show my email address Off
Prints your email on your card. Left off, your card points people at ezComp messages instead.
Show my phone number Off
The same, for your phone. Hosts of events you are already judging get your details either way — they need to reach you on the day.
Your W-9
Share my W-9 with hosts of events I judge New · Off
Only hosts of events you are actually on the panel for. Never directors, never anyone browsing. If you attach your W-9 to a message yourself, that person can always open it — this switch does not undo a document you chose to send.
Comments about you
Let hosts comment on events I judged Off
Allows a host whose event you judged to write a short note about your work.
Let directors comment on clinics I ran Off
The same, for directors whose choir you ran a clinic with, and only after the clinic has happened.
Show approved comments on my profile On
One for hosts, one for directors. Turning either off takes those comments off your card without losing them.
Comments take two switches because they answer two questions. The first decides whether anyone may write about you at all. The second decides whether the ones you have read and approved actually appear in public. Nothing is ever published without you seeing it first.
If something looks wrong
I filled everything in but nobody can find me
Check the Who can see you card. A complete profile with the judge directory switch off is invisible. That one switch is the difference.
My percentage will not reach 100
The line under the circle names what is missing. Usually it is the W-9. If it says your photo, that comes from showchoir.com rather than this page, so email us.
I do not want to be listed any more
Turn off both directory switches. You keep your profile, calendar, events and messages, and hosts you already work with can still reach you. Turn them back on whenever you like.
Someone wrote a comment I do not like
It is not published. Comments arrive private and stay that way until you approve them. Open Comments received, read it, and leave it alone if you would rather nobody saw it.
Can I do all this on my phone?
Yes, every part of it. The section list becomes a row across the top instead of a column down the side.
Still stuck?
Email us and somebody will walk through it with you. There is no wrong question here, and we would much rather set it up with you than have you not turn up in a search.
